I am a huge advocate for speech therapy. If you find a good fit *and put in the work,* you may very well find fluency. I wouldn't set any arbitrary timelines at this point. But it's not inconceivable that you could be fluent in the next year. I had suggested reporting the teacher to administration in your first post. Doing so might help the teacher realize they need to be more sensitive to people with speech impediments. Maybe you can prevent another student from having an experience similar to yours.
