That's just a tone argument, yeah? It's not unfair to say that scientists should be the ones making such bold statements about causal links. They could have been sweeter, but I don't think the OP was unnecessarily rude. This isn't high tea. In the case of stuttering, there is a ton of misinformation floating around, some of which is actively harmful to us. We should absolutely be vigilant when people are making statements like these and posing them as fact, and while there's no reason to be *outright mean* about it, there's likewise no reason to sugarcoat it.
