Hand gestures could potentially do more harm than good. It can turn into a secondary behavior. For example, finger tapping. Maybe a PWS tried tapping a finger for rhythm to get through a stutter. It may work at first, but your brain adapts, and it's not as successful anymore. But you're still instinctually compelled to do the tapping during each block. This becomes a secondary behavior and makes the stutteting more complex.
