How do you deal with parents who have an apathetic attitude towards stuttering, and not having anyone to "talk" to? In my father's case, I'm a "problem" - a disappointment that needs no attention until it automatically corrects itself. I always get vibes from him that he doesn't want me around (i.e. we rarely speak, uninterested in the things I say, gives the cold shoulder, etc.), yet when he is around my other fluent siblings and others in general, he is more open and talkative. There are times when I'm even speaking with him and begin to stutter, I can just read his facial expression that he is just out right annoyed. I've addressed my feelings about this in the past, but it just turns into an argument and me feeling worse than I already did. I've also tried talking with my mother, but it's just the same: we talk and nothing changes. Really need help.
