I see too many college students going into speech therapy/SLP just because they just want to graduate. They have no compassion for kids that they will be working with. Nor know how it affects mental health in both children and adults. Well at least PWS with severe cases. Not only have a chatted with these said students at said college. I’ve witnessed their actions and attitudes in a speech therapy program(s). Also all of my own SLPs have no idea how to approach stuttering. They only teach you various techniques. Then when the techniques don’t work in real world situations, they tend to blame the person who they are working with. Because they didn’t use the “textbook techniques”.
