Do you agree? "Blocking is a form of fight or flight reaction to an anxiety inducing situation, and the way to overcome it is by doing exposure therapy." **Stutter question:** **Someone said**: *"Blocking is a form of fight or flight reaction to a anxiety inducing situation, and the way to overcome it is by doing exposure therapy."* Ok. Now, let’s assume that statement is true. How could we explore it further and see what it means in the context of our own individual stuttering experiences? We do exposure exercises and let's say that it does not result in reduced stuttering.. then what? What's the next step, in the perspective of the statement? if the secondary behaviors are gone. the fear is gone. The breathing and tension are fixed (etc). Yet, the stutter is the same. What is the next step? What should we keep track of? Has anyone tried something like this, what worked, what didn’t, and what did you measure?
