Hey man, we've all been there. Most people who stutter dont have a problem when we're by ourselves, or talking to children or animals (I still have a problem with children). I dont know a single person who stutters who didn't have trouble on their name. The word substitution, the circumlocution, the interjections and buffer words are things many of us have done and conditioned, with frustrating results. In my opinion, you figured it out with your click, you have to get rid of this stuff. You're trying so hard not to stutter that you try anything to avoid it and come up with these distraction behaviors (clicking, buffers, substitution). When these are new they work because they distract you but then stop, so you have to find something else (saying Like stopped working so you switched to Fucking). These are all things you've (unconsciously) conditioned in yourself because you didn't want to let yourself stutter so badly. As far as i've found, the only way out of this misery is to learn to accept yourself and your stutter. That means to talk without trying everything you can to cover it up or get it to go away. By avoiding you're never going to deal with the issue. The people I know who gained hold of their lives realized that talking is the only way they were going to overcome their stuttering and not let it run them. talking without tricks, without the junk in their speech, just free open stuttering.
