If you even smell disrespect you should find out how to get in touch with a lawyer. I wish I was kidding. I have found that actually people in healthcare don't give any more of a shit about someone, esp female, with a speech problem. Actually a lot of people senior to me would treat me like I was wasting everyone's time. Jerks. You need to know what you offer and be confident. If someone tries to slight you ask them seriously what they meant by that, try not to fight lol and then go to HR. Don't let anyone walk all over you at a job and don't let them take your job from you. For me it was surreal to experience people who know better acting like schoolyard bullies. I would have people not defend me from patient teasing and actually was accused of my volume being a problem. In a place where more clients than not were hard of hearing and asking me to speak up. For what it's worth wearing a mask at jobs in healthcare was great I did feel like people not seeing my full expressions enhanced their ability to see me as a human being.
