So, speech fluency (e.g., stuttering) and language fluency (French proficiency) are not the same thing. When your teacher says fluency is expected she/he is talking about your proficiency and knowledge. You stutter in English, presumably your teacher knows you stutter in English. If you're worried about it talk directly to your teacher. You won't be penalized for stuttering. Are you in the US? If so you can see and SLP employed by the school system. In this case, in particular, because the stuttering has the potential to have an adverse education impact. Talk to your teacher. Talk to you advisor. Tell them you're concerned that stuttering may impede your score in your French class. If you need increased advocacy request to see an SLP and tell them you want then to advocate for you to your French teacher
