Hi. This is very tricky. I don't think anyone here can predict what a psychedelic would do for you. Nor would it be responsible for any of us to say "yeah, do it!" As you know, these substances, the ones that grow in nature, have been used by certain cultures for centuries for all sorts of conditions. However, in those cultures, there are peoples whose lives are devoted to this practice, who know, or have a good sense, of what to use and how much/how often for a particular individual. In so-called developed societies, we've mostly lost that connection. Medicine is now slowly recognizing that psychedelics likely do have a place in health and well being. And there are now small studies being done here and there. But it's like trying to reconnect to an ancestor who lived 500 years ago. Plus, to be scientifically recognized, the studies have to follow protocols which are sometimes antithetical to actually helping any individual. Nevertheless, some of these studies, though small, have had remarkable results with severe anxiety and depression. I don't know of one focused on stuttering, however. It happens I've done a lot of reading about using psychedelics as medicine or an aid to healing. But I'm not sure any amount of reading could tell you how mushrooms or any other psychedelic will affect you. Nor could it tell you which one to take or how much. I've seen psychedelics change people's lives radically for the better. I've also seen them do harm. My brother had to leave college for a semester because of a terrible reaction to mushrooms. He was left in a semi-psychotic state for three months. I now understand that it was likely the setting he was in that triggered that reaction, plus the fact that he really didn't want to take them but felt pressured into it. At the time however (this was a couple of decades ago), it was a horrible thing. If you've read a lot about these substances, you probably already know how much setting and mindset can affect the experience. But.....it's also possible to do everything "right" and not get the results you're hoping for, or even to make things worse in some unanticipated way. I know I'm not answering your question. I do not stutter myself. The one person I know who took mushrooms and does stutter, had a dramatic and good response, but it was in relation to a severe depression he was in; his stuttering was not altered, nor was his anxiety about stuttering. But that is just one person's experience. I've also seen the Paul Stamets videos and have no reason to doubt his experience. I'm sorry I don't have a neat conclusion for you. I just thought it still might be useful to write down the bits that I know about this whole question.
