I often blame the fact that many PWS first experience with speech therapy is that they receive in the public school system. The service the school system offer is so substandard to what a professional SLP who specializes in stuttering might provide. If that is your first impression of speech therapy, it's easy to form the belief that speech therapy is not effective.
