I wish there was a waiting time protocol that anyone with speech difficulty for any reason can share. For example, I can carry a card that says "please wait for about **10 seconds** before assuming I'm finished speaking. I have a speech impediment." and I try to order my drink but get a block and if the bartender assumes that's the end of my speech, I can just show that card. Or I could show that card from the beginning. Then the bartender won't interrupt me mid-sentence, but then the guy next to me interrupts me mid-sentence. So I show my card to him too. If this becomes a protocol that the whole society adopts, then the card can just say "speech impediment. 10 seconds." and people would know to wait.
