I’ve heard that countless times growing up. But I loved hearing it because it gave me the excuse to look that person in the eye, no matter who they were and say, “You really are a fucking idiot, aren’t you? Imagine the type of confidence it takes to say something so fucking stupid.”….or something along those lines. The one gifts my stuttering has given me is the ability to trash talk people who think saying garbage like that is somehow acceptable or even accurate. I also noticed people who would say something like that had a certain type of personality and they needed someone to call them an idiot to their face. Keep practicing your fluency. Be confident that it all gets better. Never give up. And believe that some people are confidently morons.
