The worst part of speech therapy is that they give you tools that work at first. You get this hope you can defeat this curse. The problem with these tools is that they don't work forever and get you crushed mentally all over again. For me that easy onset + prolong the first letter method was a godsend. I felt cured. My speech was sort of slow and robotic but I could talk first time in my life. But the more you do it the less it works. At this point to say the word moon I sound like a fucking cow. Its sounds worse than a stutter. That is why I will be always be against speech therapy as an adult. People can hate me but speech therapy cost me money with no long term benefits
