I would just ignore it unless he brings it up. Be patient when it takes him longer to say things. Don't finish sentences for him. I think whether or not a man is going to feel emasculated by being called cute is going to be down to the individual man. When this question is asked on this subreddit, the answers seem pretty split. I don't like it (because it feels dismissive, not because I find it emasculating), other guys appreciate the sentiment. You know him better than any of us do.
