I'm very sorry to hear she's been so obstinate. First, you're right, and you don't deserve to be treated this way. A lot of people here can vouch for people in positions of authority frequently having no clue or willful ignorance of others' lived experiences and how the law affords some help to them. Secondly, there's nothing more you can do with her. Convincing her otherwise is a lost cause at this point. You need to escalate ASAP so the people who *do* know the law and at least know they are compelled to help can step in.
