Noises intentionally happen around me when I'm in a block or speaking to someone

Noises intentionally happen around me when I'm in a block or speaking to someone This is silly, but why does my dog feel like she needs to lick her bowl like crazy for scraps of food when I'm in a middle of speaking to my parents or in a bad block? All the extra noises are bad timing and makes it worse but does anyone feel this way too?
