About to marry a stutter. I'm madly in love with him. He's uncomfortable speaking about it. Anything I should know to make his life easier? Thanks! Hi all, Just to be clear: I am not having cold feet. We've been together for ages, and I actually proposed to him. Nothing you could say could ever make me change my mind. I know it might be hereditary. That's perfectly fine. I just want to understand this side of him so I can make him happy by possibly taking over tasks like calling the landlord :) (out of pride he'd never say it were a problem, so this is a very sensitive topic. He only occasionally stutters, but I am more interested in his state of mind/social anxiety. I don't want him to struggle to prove anything to me, I love him for who he is and I genuinely want him to be happy). I'd like in particular to know: 1. If there could be any connections with psychological/emotional abuse as a child (I have the suspect he has been but I obviously can't bring that up). I apologize in advance if this offends anyone, I am completely ignorant about this and I can't find any info online. I am here to learn. 2. Any books/videos/documentaries I should read or watch to learn more? Thanks! Edit: I obviously meant *stutterer in the title, sorry for the typo Edit 2: omg I am just seeing now the mistakes I did. Sorry, English is not my first language and it's the middle of the night where I am.
