Its a sad situation and a real shame about the fast food worker, but that doesn't have to be you. Even looking around this subreddit you'll see plenty of examples of people pursuing what they want and finding a way, even when it gets hard. That doesn't mean they dont fail, but they dont resign themselves and take the momentary failure for a future predictor. You dont want to work at a place that doesn't get it. Have you tried Advertising at the start of an interview ("Hi, before we start I just wanted to let you know I have a stutter, so if you need me to repeat anything or have any questions, please feel free to ask."). Yes, you'll probably stutter on that, but you're already going to stutter during the interview so why try so hard not to. Trying to hide all signs of it will only make it worse. Advertising breaks the ice, stutterwise, and often makes everyone feel more at ease. And it's as much for them as it is for you.
