That’s awesome! Well done! 👍🏼 See, if we are too much in our head, it really debilitates us! Fear is a mind killer!!! I think two things helped you here. Firstly, reading makes us stutter a lot less because it takes the pressure of thinking on the spot away. You had a script to guide what you wanted to convey. Thinking on the spot surges adrenaline to our detriment. Secondly, breaking the ice and making the audience laugh made you feel more comfortable, and that took away a lot of the physical tension, anxiety, reduced the adrenaline and cortisol in your brain/body. Feeling more relaxed makes a HUGE difference. Always start with a light hearted joke to take away the stress, tension and anxiety. You’ll feel so much more relaxed and you won’t self-monitor your speech fluency so much. As you get more confident doing presentations, look up a few times at the audience and make eye contact. Small steps my friend! Congrats! Very happy for you and I’m sure you’ll get a good grade for it. 😎👍🏼
