TSA/Customs Q's Hello! I am trying to plan an international trip for my partner and I. It would be our first and we are very excited about the prospect of visiting another culture and being able to use of passports. For reference, I am a natural-born US citizen. As I've been planning our trip and the political climate is changing, I realize I am privileged to be a white female American, but I am concerned about the prospects of being stopped at customs due to my stutter. I'd say on a scale of 1-10 when speaking to figures of authority, it's a severity of a 6 or a 7. I have one of those disclosure cards in my wallet, but I'm not sure how seriously those would be taken by customs agents. The anxiety of it all is making me wonder if we should forego international travel and do something domestic instead. Does anyone have experience with going through customs? Would Global Entry be helpful?
