Im 35, and ive learned to piggyback on my friends to become more social. Same at work, i befriend few coworkers, and sortof use their social skills to put myself out there. For me the key has been to find few friends that don't care about my stutter and free me from having to worry about it all the time. I've realized i can make lasting friendships with certain people when im open about my stutter. Maybe because ive shown them my most vulnerable side, so they trust me more. Or maybe because im a good listener, lol. My point is, although my stutter bothers me some days, ive realized that it's a blessing in disguise, and many wonderful things have happened to me because of it, directly or indirectly.
