>I change the words I use to express myself sometimes AS I AM SPEAKING because I know the word is about to not work. I agree and a study showed that PWS can 90% of the times - predict a stutter coming where it actually results in a stutter. So, as you said about your feared word being fun, most PWS react to anticipatory fear by doing symptoms or unhelpful responses/interventions. Research states that the more we react to anticipatory anxiety eg by substituting words, the more we are telling our instinct that the anticipation is a problem, to be avoided, fearful and true which makes it harder to breathe out (compulsion) the next time we speak (which results in stuttering). Could you watch some of these YT [videos](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=anticipatory+anxiety) about anticipatory fear and then give me your opinion if you translate what you've learned in the video - to your stuttering?
