I largely agree with you that it's naive to think of stuttering as a physiological brain-based disorder only. At least in my case I got a lot of evidence its a systems issue comprising many parts, of which include emotional wounds, psychology, and in my unique case gut health. It's really disappointing to see all of the cope on this subreddit...like I get stuttering can be awful, but there have been people who no longer stutter after doing all kinds of work on themselves. The underlying assumption is that people assume the 'cure' is going to be something simple, akin to going the doctor and getting an antibiotic or something, when in reality its a hell of a lot of work.
