A little chuckle isn't likely anything to get in a twist about any more than a scoff or raised eyebrows. I do suggest to anyone reading this to seize the opportunities that present themselves. When an authority figure, such as a judge, police, or teacher does react poorly to your stutter, address the issue. Then and there. e.g. "Your honor, why would you chuckle at my stutter? It's a lifelong disability and it takes a lot for me to speak in public." I've gotten out of traffic stops when a cop handled it wrong. I was pretty indignant and angry with the cop. I'd suggest more respect towards a judge. With a teacher, who you have to deal with regularly, approach them in private. You'll get more than if they feel they have to maintain their image in front of the class.
