Can changing back to my dominant hand fix my stuttering?

Can changing back to my dominant hand fix my stuttering? I developed a stutter around the time my mom forced me to change writing hands (from left to right around 5-6 years old). My doctor said this might be the reason for the development of my stutter; my psychologist professor (Phd in child development) also said this might be a cause. However, neither had a definitive answer when I asked them if changing my hand back to my left would cause my stutter to go away. Do you guys know by any chance? Thank you
