Begin by calming yourself and accepting the reality that it's okay if others notice your stammer. Embracing this fact is the first step. Loosen up your tongue and mouth, allowing the tension to drain away. This step involves consciously releasing the energy from these areas. Start by saying the first letter of the word very slowly, stretching the sound with a low volume, almost inaudible. This deliberate and measured approach helps build momentum. Gradually increase the volume and intensity of the sound, moving from the initial letter to the complete word. Utilize the momentum created to articulate the entire word with more fluency.
