You should definitely talk to your professor about it, and you should say you don't want special treatment. You should try to get a copy of the syllabus before hand and see what, if any, oral reports or whatnot there might be. The other thing about college is that there are two challenges -- daily stuttering when talking to professors and friends -- and the long term effects of not wanting to talk to professors or counselors, etc., I've actually just started writing about my own college experience.
