have passed on Stutter Hi All, I've passed on stuttering to my son (3yr old). About 4 days ago he repeated a word in a sentence 3 times in a row ("I like like like that book"), to which we thought that was weird but brushed it off. The last few months his vocab has exploded and he talks very well (atleast to a normal 3 year old level, if not better). Over the last 4 days it has gotten worse to the point today where it was multiple times every sentence and the repeated words may go on 30-40 times, over multiple breaths to the point he's forgotten what the sentance was about. tonight at bed time he couldn't even explain something and started crying, which almost had me stressing thinking what have I done/passed on to him. My partner has booked him into 2 speed pathologist's (both months booked up in advanced). My stuttering history probably started about the same time apparently, I've asked my parents what I was like but they can't really remember, just that they took me to a SP and I got it under control about 8? (have been able to mask it since 14 - I change words when I know I'm going to stutter, quick enough or small stutter enough that 9/10 people don't notice) Anyone else in the same boat? We feel extremely stressed/downed about this as he couldn't have been more communicative a week ago, to now wanting to not talk within days. fuck this
