I’ve had some interesting results. But let me preface - I’ve tried a TON of treatments that have led to incremental improvements: Toastmasters, reading aloud, tongue exercises, Lee Lovett’s “Stop Stuttering Short Course, tongue twisters, fluency visualizations, diaphragmatic breathing, Alexander technique for posture, etc etc. I had a new age business coach randomly give me a session that was focused on general confidence/success mindset - not speech. A weird byproduct was it immediately relaxed my body, fixed my posture & breathing and my stutter completely vanished. It was like magic. I was on vacation which helped. The results lasted about a week and my stutter slowly back crept in - but not as much because I had experienced effortless fluency. I tried to find other hypnotherapists in NYC but never had the same results. I saw the coach again the next year and bam, stutter gone, for another week and again slight, lasting improvement. I was obsessed with trying to find the right hypnotherapist. Or doing self hypnosis but could never replicate it. So now I just consider it we one small step on my journey for increased fluency.
