This hit the nail on the head. This matches with everything I've experienced. The funniest (not humorous) part about stuttering is that the more you try to avoid it, the more likely you are to stutter, and the less control you will have over it. Making phone calls, asking for directions or help with something, answering direct questions that require more than a yes or no answer, talking to authority figures, all of these things trigger my stuttering more than anything else.
