I'm a middle aged man and I've been stuttering since I was 5 years old. My stutter has always been tied to a feeling of intense stress and anxiety when I speak or deal with difficult topics, people, tense situations etc.. As a kid I went to weekly classes in public school with a speech language pathologist, as an adult I've tried meditation, yoga, courses, reading out loud to myself, talking to myself in the mirror, courses that I've found online, drinking, marijuana, shrooms, DMT etc. but as much and hard has I've tried nothings ever worked for me. During less stressful times of my life, conversations, relationships, etc., my stutter would be better or worse, but for me it's always been tied intense to stress and anxiety. For the past 5 days I've been on a strict Keto diet pre-made meal plan. I have Keto test strips and I've verified that I am in fact in Ketosis, it's been quite easy in fact thanks to this low price meal plan I found at a local store. I originally started the Keto diet with the intent of loosing a little weight and getting in shape, but honestly since I started I feel like a new person. My internal stress and anxiety levels are as low as when I was meditating 2 hours a day and doing Yoga 3 times a week, honestly wasn't expecting that. And AMAZINGLY my stutter has gone down probably 90-95%! I don't feel stress anymore when I'm talking, that stress and anxiety is 99% gone when I'm speaking. Yes I'm still getting hung up on M sometimes but way less than I used to. I had tried the Keto diet 6 years ago in 2018 but I was never able to get into Ketosis. Since being on this extremely strict Keto diet meal plan with intermittent fasting as well, it's been easy getting into Ketosis. I never feel hungry, my brain fog/ constant background headache is gone, constant feeling of anxiety and stress is gone, low energy and depression gone, but for me the main thing is the stutter is magically disappearing! Thank you @[SportacusJ](https://www.reddit.com/user/SportacusJ/) for posting this thread, I wish I would have read it 6 years ago and been as serious about trying keto as I have been recently. I think there is definitely a link between Keto and reduction in stutter. As a fellow stutterer I know we've all dealt with this affliction in our own way, most of us learn to accept it and move on and try not to let it bother us, even when people react to it in less desirable ways. We develop a thick skin and just go on with our lives because we've tried everything and nothing seems to work, but what if it were this easy? There are always naysayers and some even on this thread, but you have to be honest with yourself and ask yourself if you've ever really 10000% been on a strict keto diet? Have you verified through the urine test strips, or a blood meter that you were in ketosis? Without verifying if you've ever been in a state of ketosis can you really have a valid opinion about this? As I say I count myself very lucky that meal plans are so popular now (and affordable $8 a meal) and make being on a strict Keto diet easy. Like I say, I've been stuttering at least 35 years of my life. I know for a fact my life could have been much better up to this point had I not stuttered. If doctors had a 95% cure for stuttering that costs $$$$$$, hell we'd all probably sign up. There's no price I wouldn't pay to get rid of my stutter. 5 days into this Keto meal plan I've only spent $64, and that's money I would have spent on groceries or meals out anyway; so for me at least it's really not an added expense and even if it was, to have my stutter almost instantly magically disappear wallah like magic, that's priceless to me! In this new advent of meal plans that make being in Ketosis so easy, I would genuinely encourage all stutterers to earnestly give this a try for a week or two and see if you notice effects like I'm sharing. Happy to share my results so far and thank you again to @[SportacusJ](https://www.reddit.com/user/SportacusJ/) for this thread, 6 years after your post there's still not a lot of information out there about this. I only hope our stories end up helping someone who's never tried this. Like I said I totally stumbled upon this by accident, as I had initially started Keto just a a weight-loss tool.
