It’s definitely not asking for special treatment, but I totally get your point and I feel the same at times. If it bothers you a lot I would be upfront about it, if they mention communication skills again then say. Not 100% but I’d imagine it’s protected under some sort of equality. My job is the same, lots of meetings and leading meetings. I’ve found having a rough script to get a couple points going helps me to settle in. Last month I was in a meeting with a few people across the UK I’d never met before. One of them had a stutter. Idk if the other people in the meeting noticed, but I did since I am conscious of mine every day. I sympathised with him (even thought I know none of us want sympathy, but I know how I sometimes feel and imagined he’s the same). But it showed me we shouldn’t let it hold us back.
