Any scientists who stutter? Hi, guys! I'm a rising senior in college studying molecular biology and I have plans of going to grad school for my PhD. This summer I had the pleasure of participating in a research internship at the University of Pennsylvania and parts of the program involved presenting my research in powerpoint and poster forms. I found both of these things to be extremely difficult and exhausting. Surprisingly, the poster presentation was a lot harder because I had to explain my research multiple times. I have found that unlike most scientist, I hate talking about my research. But I know that it is because of my stuttering. If I didn't stutter, I would love sharing what I've done. I've also found networking to be extremely difficult. But networking, presentations, sharing your research, etc. are all important parts of being a scientist. My experience this summer has been phenomenal but there's been moments where I have questioned my ability to perform in this field. Sometimes I just don't know if I could handle presentation after presentation, stutter after stutter, and struggle after struggle. Is there anyone else in a similar situation?
