I'm from the UK and my four year old has a stutter. The public systems SLP's treatment at this age is educating parents and teachers. The goal is to give positive speaking experiences and ensure they are well supported. I was told therapy with the child wouldn't start until 7 or 8 because they are too young to work with. Canadian SLPs might have a different view to treatment at this age. Just wanted to share my experience. My kid is stuttering quite a lot but he is confident when talking. I am hoping this stream of positive talking experiences will help him grow out of it over time.
