Speaking about my 14yr old. After 12yrs of therapy with almost zero results, I took her to a well known stutter specialist in Atlanta. I didn’t get my hopes up, but after 3 days of 4hr therapy sessions I sat in our hotel bathroom and cried like a baby. She was almost fluent. 12 yrs of struggling through speech therapy with zero improvement, and she was almost fluent in 3 days after therapy with him. It was so overwhelming! Full transparency..she has been diagnosed as mod-severe blocks. I feel more on the moderate side. Now after coming home and not practicing, she’s back to like before. But we start the zoom/virtual sessions next week. So I hope she flips back to more fluency and with weekly sessions/practice it becomes more steady. Honestly, my anxiety and fear has decreased tremendously because, for the first time in years, I saw her have control over it versus the other way around. It was overwhelming for both of us. I can’t stress enough the difference between a speech therapist and stutter speech therapist. Now what worked for her, may not work for someone else, and I’m not here to tell anyone he can do the same for them…but I kept seeing people on here recommending him and gave it a shot. I don’t want to get tagged/removed for promoting his services but his name rhymes with Jim.
