I 100% understand what you mean. People tend to stutter less when talking alone, to small children or pets. Why is that? Possibly because we do not expect a response. We are not imparting meaning interactive language discourse between ourselves and something else. Same thing can be said for singing. It’s a one way communication event. I could go into a deep dive about how some people believe stuttering is an expressive language disorder using that “interaction mode” thought. But yeah. Totally agree with you.
