I lose my train of thought all the time while talking and start to jibber jabber about...or stumble over my words. I attribute it to my diagnosed ADHD taking over, especially when I'm in a situation when I'm comfortable talking with people (like with friends, family, coworkers). My solution to conquer your situation is try to strike up small talk with strangers. Like while waiting in a line somewhere is a perfect opportunity, everyone around you isn't going anywhere but forward, everyone in line wants to get to some goal at the end of the line, plenty to talk about. Try joining a club. But it can be hard since there may be too many to choose from....or too few. So I'd try the next best thing, volunteering somewhere that requires a lot of people interaction. For example food pantries, animal shelters (you'll probably interact with cats and dogs more here, but if you encounter someone else there, animals are a good conversation starter), or church (if you're religious). Also, don't be afraid to ask your friends to introduce you to new people. I do it all the time. And in turn, I introduce my friends to my other friends. I also noticed you work, so ask your co workers if you want to hang out.
