Ways to avoid stuttering

Ways to avoid stuttering When you stutter, are you sometimes able to tell which word in the sentence you are going to stutter on? It happens to me a lot and it’s kinda like looming threat that I can’t do anything to avoid. What you do to avoid it? I usually try to find a different word as quick as possible to supplement it (preferably a word I know I can say).
