One thing I really appreciate from having stuttered my whole life is that fact that I was quiet a lot and read books all the time. Because of that and the fact that I substituted words all the time as an avoidance tactic, I've got a pretty good sized vocabulary. In high school and college I was always in the 99th percentile on reading/English tests, and those scores on my ACT test helped get me into a school I wanted to go to. Not to say that I wouldn't rather not stutter, but it's one of the positives I try to keep in mind :)
