Maybe it is just the people I've talked with, but dating and the reaction of parents were huge differences. The best example I can think of is how women tend to find men who stutter "endearing" because it makes them "vulnerable", where as in my own personal experience I have been told it is unattractive or annoying or been ridiculed by my (male) dates. Also, my mother making a fuss about me never finding a man because of it. Society puts a lot of emphasis on outer beauty for women, and that sometimes intertwines with HOW we sound as opposed to WHAT exactly it is we are saying. It is not eloquent, it is not lady like, it doesn't sound pretty, etc. I don't know if this is unusual, or if other women can relate, hence why I would love to talk to other women from the sub. I hope this helped/made sense!
