I'm an attorney who has been a life long stutterer. I am a litigator in court, and I can tell you that I still get worried about stuttering during a cross-examination. I consider myself successful (though I am still young and have been practicing law for a few years only, not decades). Keep at it. What helped me a lot was to do a lot of public speaking (i.e., acting classes/performances and church, which may not be as applicable). Stuttering is not generally a physical defect, but can be overcome. It also helps to be very very very very prepared when going to court. Your confidence in your preparation will be very important to your ability to succeed in the courtroom. Like other people have said its about engaging and learning to overcome your stutter that will make you successful. A lot of it is mental, you have to believe in yourself and know that you can overcome it.
