You should absolutely go. At some point in life, you’re going to have to introduce yourself. Look at it as a great opportunity to practice that interaction! Write down your introduction: “hi my name is …..”, that simple. Make a goal of going up to just 5 people, and say that exact introduction. I promise it’ll get better. A couple things could happen: 1. You get BETTER at the introduction, building your confidence. 2. You mess up, and you never see these people again. Move on to the next. Also, do you think you’re the only one self conscious about going? There are people debating attending the party simply because they don’t have the right colored shirt, isn’t that silly? Everybody is self conscious about something. Odds are, they’re thinking way more about how their 3rd button is accidentally undone, than your stutter. You got this.
