I totally thought from the headline of the piece that it was going to be a victim sob story, instead there's a good beginning of a discussion about perceiving speech disorders (all disorders, really). I have a speech disorder, my kids do too. My big thing, especially since one of my kids is autistic - presume competence. Then let the other evidence inform your assessment and change your actions/speech accordingly. Thanks for sharing!
