Ah yes, there it is— I’d entertain your opinion if Lovett didn’t have a stutter and just a guy exploiting those who stutter but he does have a stutter and has experience in practicing/overcoming it. Wouldn’t it behoove you to recognize that rather than to push your opinion onto us fellow stutters? As someone who has had a stutter their ENTIRE life, I found his methods very helpful and laid the groundwork for fruitful progress. Am I holding his feet to the fire because my stuttering wasn’t cured? No, but his methods and tools have helped tenfold (his book is full of terrible punctuation errors by the way). And you’re right, its not the way forward but it’s a productive step. And you’re correct, the scientific community would take interest in his methods if they were a “cure” to stuttering, but stuttering is still an anomaly in the scientific community. Have you considered that maybe the science community is researching his methods as we speak? Surely that’s a possibility unless you’re privy to information we’re not. I say all this to say, we’re all in the same boat trying to figuring out this stuttering affliction day by day and I find it counterproductive and arrogant for you to assume we’re vulnerable and don’t know better. Lastly, you mentioned his marketing methods. Are you the subject matter in marketing? Just curious since you seem to have such a strong opinion towards him. I don’t want to assume you’re allowing your opinions to cloud your objectivity.
