One of the most valuable skills I have learned that helps me speak naturally in high stress situations 👇 One of the most valuable skills I have learned that helps me speak naturally in high stress situations Is the ability to have a strong frame. Having a strong frame means not allowing your internal reality to be fluctuated by external events. I'll give you an example. Back when I was obsessed about learning “game” (dating), in my teens.. I had a dating coach tell me that one of the best frames (internal reality) to hold is “every girl is excited and desiring to meet you, but they just may not be aware of it yet.” And this means if a girl rejects you (external event) it won't hurt your sense of self (internal reality) because “she just doesn't realize it yet”. Lol I'm cracking up just writing this because of how my views on rejection have changed. But you get the idea right? Being a person who stutters, I have learned some of the best frames to enter a conversation with and no matter the outcome (stutter or not) you can hold the same self worth, confidence etc the whole time. And that's a super valuable skill because it allows you to stutter and keep staying open, speaking your truth, which then grants you the ability to make a new relationship with stuttering because you are creating congruence with a new truth. Which in turn will allow you to let go of the fear/anxiety/anticipation when it comes to stuttering. A frame is only as powerful as the context it is in and the fear it's addressing.. So with that being said, I can definitely share my frames I have in social situations, meetings, presentations, first impressions, calls, ordering food, bars, clubs etc.. But I really want to make sure I'm addressing the reality of the most people possible. So for the next 24 hours I'll do a value drop (as I'm at an ecstatic dance retreat and I just want to share some love). Comment ANY situation you feel you have the most anxiety around or maybe you feel the most inauthentic in, stutter the most in etc.. Comment down below that exact environment you struggle in and I’ll share my frame, the internal reality I have forged in my favor, so my self worth doesn’t fluctuate even if I get caught in a block so hopefully you can adopt this new way of thinking too so next time you walk in to the environment you feel just a bit lighter. Looking forward to seeing your comments (no promises I can get to everyone as I am having an amazing time here, but I will do my best).
