Thank you for raising this. I agree that stuttering is rarely caused by breathing itself, and we are not treating breathing as the root cause or a fix for stuttering. When we talk about guided breathing, we mean it as a supportive regulation tool, not a speech correction technique. For some people who stutter, tension, anticipation, anxiety, or physical struggle around speech can increase blocks. Breathing exercises can help with nervous system regulation, reducing overall tension and helping the body feel calmer before or during speaking.
