That happened to me the other day... in court. I'm an attorney and I was speaking to a secretary of the DA to continue a case and she asked my name- of course it stuttered out. She said "don't you even know your own name?" I wanted to say, "Miss. I am an attorney. People put their future in my hands on a daily basis. What, do you think, are the odds that I don't know my own name?" What I did say is "I know my own name, I just stutter. Is that a problem?" The look on her face was priceless.
