When I was 15, I moved to a new school. At first, trying to fit in was really difficult. Like you said, it's really difficult and intimidating putting yourself in a vulnerable position when trying to meet people. In my experience, I found acceptance after I started focusing on hobbies (mostly music in my case) and people realized my stutter didn't define me. I would recommend embracing a hobby and getting good at it, whether that be music, art, metal/woodworking shop or anything that will let you showcase your personality without needing to verbally communicate. I found a lot of good friends this way. Don't forget, everyone has their struggles. We're just unfortunate in that ours are right out in front. I'm 30 now and still have my low days, but it gets easier.
