I know exactly how you feel. If I have a more-than-usual embarrassing moment, it will trigger a major depressive episode. I used to get one every month, or so, and the episode would last 2-3 days. It was pretty worrisome due to the thoughts that were going on in my head. It took me a while to find a medication that helped with the episodes but I finally found Lamictal which is a mood stabilizer. I still get down sometimes like anyone would but it definitely lessens the severity compared to what it used to be. People of Asian decent can't take it due to a gene that causes Stevens-Johnson syndrome and girls on certain birth control shouldn't take it because Lamictal nullifies the BC.
